Teaching Stress Management To Adapt
We are social creatures, requiring some level of interaction with one another to mutually exist. Even if we are able to survive alone in the most extreme idea, the idea of effective communication and the need for self-expression requires us to have other human beings to interact with.
Always With Us
Nevertheless, stress is part of existence, more so with the social interaction. Alone, stress of needing to interact ensues. With others around, the compliance and conformity to each unique personality adds stressors tenfold. Conflict amplifies it even more.
However we were designed as rational creatures to have a basic pattern in teaching stress management to ourselves. It is instinctive that we do not have to deliberate on each stressor. One such method of teaching stress management to ourselves is the ability to adapt, out most important tool for socialization. Without this, we are doomed to have a mental burden and perhaps even a mental breakdown.
Still, each one of us has a unique design and personality, and also different stress thresholds. Some crack easily under pressure while others are able to adapt. This is where therapeutic socialization is realized.
Teaching stress management may be imparted by a person to another based on self experience. As long as it is effective, a person will definitely be willing to share the techniques of stress management. Those who have learned of such new information may try the same methods to suit the self.
For those who might be thinking that this contradicts the idea of uniqueness of personalities, the basic concept idea of a present adaptability of each person allows for small modifications and streamlining of acquired concepts to suit specific situations.
Communication Is The Key
Nonetheless, the best teaching stress management method is communication. No matter how much stressor abound an individual, a good practice of communication protocols to the self or to others releases the initial tension of burdening one’s self of anything.
A person who has a good communication habit is not only effective in teaching stress management to the self but to the others as well. This self-expression does not only translate to the ability of an individual to parlay words though talk.
Self-expression is also done through the actions, lifestyle, and aura that a person projects. Sometimes, just the presence of an individual with good vibes may cause an alleviation of stress for another. This is due to the idea of pleasant preferences unique to each individual as well.
Teaching stress management has no defined protocols, hence the trial and error approach. This poses an inefficient way of directly and quickly addressing stress. However, it allows a broader range of patter and solution seeking to adapt to the stress.
Combined for the long run, the whole process of trials and errors enhance the learning experience and further enrich the personal experience of an individual to handle stress, making him a more effective agent for others.
